I did this for the Assassin's Fortress for the Game Assassin's Creed.
Masyaf by ~Raphael-Lacoste is an absolutely beautiful image. The detail, the imagination, the landscape. Everything. And that's not all...this deviant's gallery is full of amazingly painted cityscapes, landscapes and such. (

Wow, this brings back some fond gaming memories, magnificent. This certainly matches your standard of work, but also stands out. While not completely identical to Masyaf, it is quite similar and some of the changes you have made are for the better in terms of appeal. The architecture has a good texture to it, view points along the wall adds to the detailing and accuracy of the fortress. The flags and birds high above do add to the piece, the eagles and insignias capture the feel of the Assassin Brotherhood.
What does seem a bit odd though are the guards, snow and lack of people, the way you have set it up, particularly with the addition of the snow does imply this is based during the finale, during the betrayal and revealing of a piece of Eden, am I right? Regardless, well done, keep it up.
;v; omgeee I got the limited edition art book for Assassin's Creed for my birthday which was two months ago. Saw this in there. I must say you did a FANTASTIC job on it! And my mom thinks so too! (<-- and she freaking LOVES landscape artwork. She couldn't help but stare at the snow and mountains and stuff.)
What shall i say? I would give one's eye teeth for those matte-paint-abilitys!!! Unbelievable that you dont use any 3D-Software for those awesome scenes.
I try to paint digital since several years and sometimes a choose the easy way using a 3D-Software... this gives me a great push forward to skill my tablet-work. Thanks for it and HATS OFF! Wonderful and amazing Illustration that keeps me smelling the iceclear air and feel the frost!
do you really work for ubisoft? if yes, could you note me how to contact Jade Raymond? I had some screenshots here but now they got deactivated by the admins ALTHOUGH the FAQs say it's allowed to submit them, when they get submitted to the scraps. to reactivte them I need the written permission from the owner. well, I am the "owner" of the shots, but I guess they mean the copyrighted owner of the game, so Jade Raymond. can you help me? I have only time until 20th august.
Very good drawing and very impressive. I like it very much.Masyaf also known as Alamut Castle or Castle Alamut. In the game, almost everything is real I think.I'm reading a book about it. It's name is "Castle Alamut and Hasan El Sabbah" by "Bernard Lewis".
