Iron Man...

Journal Entry: Wed May 14, 2008, 8:55 AM
special effets got the power !

I am still wondering when producers can spend so much money on visual effects (and on this movie I must say that they are impressive!) why couldn't they pay also for a good script?

I mean, It is so rare to see a good mix between impressive visuals and deep, interesting story!
I Think will stick to my blade runner, brazil, and children of men for a long time :-)
Maybe Marketing/productions are still afraid to loose money on good movies ...

anyways, spent a good time with my pop corns, enjoyed it, but will forget it tomorrow and won't buy the DVD :)

I didn't like the story either, especially the ending, what I'm really worried about is that Indiana Jones is going to be horrible! :(

Children of men had a good story? in what universe? :D Ironman has a good script imho. The comics is hard to convert to a film script, I can't imagine how they're going to pull of the Mandarin without him looking completely ridiculous :D

Hollywood effect! Somehow they figure vfx > story, which isn't really the case.

It wasn't that fantastic a show, but well, certainly more memorable than other marvel movies of late heh.

If I told you there was something I wanted to tell you but I shouldn't tell you because I've already told you about wanting to tell you therefore telling you what I wanted to tell you, have I told you anything at all?

I thought Iron Man was pretty good as well.

It suffered from some of the weak points that origin films can, but it was a solid effort IMO.

DEVIANTART! Nowhere will you find a more wretched hive of scum and villany...we must be cautious.

Maybe men all got one big soul that everyone's a part of. All faces are the same man....one big self.

Amen!!! Thank you for saying it. It was quite a weak movie in terms of story...they defiantly relied on special effects and the good-looks of Robert Downey Jr. to carry the movie, which was pretty much 2 action-packed battle scenes with forced dialog in between.

...and to MerlKir: sorry you didn't like Children of Men...it was a nice movie with a great concept and even though the execution of said concept could have been more clear I think it was a much better movie than Ironman

You can't lose with Speilberg, no worries. It's not a question if it's going to be good, it's a question of how good.

I agree, the Art is amazing, I was just disapointed that they didn't make a very good movie, story has an important role!
